mani monday

Long time no post!

Well, The Man and I got back from our Portland vacation on Wednesday night, and since then we've just been cleaning up the messes that are inevitably created when we leave (both work and home).  It's amazing how much happens when you leave home for a few days!

The wedding was on Saturday and it went off, although I wouldn't say without a hitch!
I painted my nails to go with the wedding "colors," Navy, Burlap and Lace:
My best friend got married to a wonderful English Man and I cried like a baby.
I hope everyone had a lovely weekend!

and still going strong!

31 YEARS!

Happy Anniversary to the cutest couple I've even known.
I asked my mom how she and dad are going to celebrate tonight, she told me they're going kickboxing. Now that's a party!

I Love You Mom and Dad, and I can't wait to see you tonight!!!

p.s. thank you for spending your anniversary waiting around the airport for me!

Happy Monday!

I had a weekend full of errands and I still don't have everything done! Wednesday night I leave for Portland to be the Maid of Honor in my best friend's wedding on Saturday!! So excited!!

This week I stayed simple, since I'll be changing my polish for the wedding.
I went with these stripey candy nails for a quick fix, until Tuesday when I do my nails for the Big Day!

doodle day

Whenever I have a free moment I try to doodle, whether it's using a pen, pencil, paint or pixlr.  So I thought I'd start a new weekly post called "doodle day" where I post one of my drawings, cute, funny, strange or otherwise.

Today's doodle was drawn with pen and pixlr:
This is how sad all of my plants look these days.  I guess green thumbs aren't genetic.

Happy Monday All!

We had a great weekend that ended with an impromptu trip to Wrigley Field! Our friend had some tickets and couldn't go, so even though the Cubs have no chance these days (seriously...none.) we jumped at the chance to see them in action!

When I was painting this weeks nails I had a hankerin' for breakfast
Bacon, Eggs, Pancakes, a Cup of Tea and a little Orange slice.  Yummers!
Sunday morning we got take out from my favorite breakfast place, Over Easy.  It's so close to our house, so we ordered our 2 favorite dishes:
The Sassy Eggs (two eggs served over chorizo-potato hash with cheddar cheese, red peppers, jalapenos, guacamole, sour cream, and ancho ketchup), and
The Sweet 'N' Salty Pancake Platter (two pancakes filled with applewood-smoked bacon and served with two eggs and three pork sausage links)

It was the perfect way to start the day.

labor day nails

I hope everyone had a fantastic holiday weekend!
Because we sure did!

We checked some things off of our home improvement to-do list, we had a BBQ with some of our favorite people, and we spent a whole day without leaving the house. All in all it was a very successful weekend.

I took yesterday off so I wasn't able to show you my Labor Day nails in a timely manner but here they are, a  day late.
Labor Day is a time to celebrate the workers who make this country great.

It's a time to break out the grill, sip a cool beverage and take naps, and by all means, do not do work!!!
Also it was made into a Federal Holiday in 1894, did you know that?
I bet you never thought nail art would teach you something, did ya?

Happy Labor Day Everyone
Now Back to Work!
